A BRIGHTER CHRISTMAS FOR KINGSTON’S LOCAL HERO

We love our coffee, and we love discovering quality, local, independent traders too. Which is why, when we were wrapping up Kingston in time for Christmas, we fell for Local hero and offered to brighten up their day.

Local hero is one of the few independent coffee shops in Kingston city centre. At a time when global coffee chains rule the high street, Local hero was so named to stand apart from the rest. They are, quite literally, the ‘local hero’ of those wanting to support independent local businesses rather than the coffee giants. Hurrah.

The Kingston branch on Thames Street is one of two (the other on Fulham Road) and, handily for us, is a mere stone’s throw from our store, making it the perfect pit stop for lunch breaks and much-needed early morning lattes.

To brighten up brunch at Local hero, we’ve gifted them with some festive mushroom salt & pepper pots and Spot Red cedar mugs – as well as our own take on the festive red takeaway coffee cup tradition for those on-the-go.

Pop in and take a look.

We can personally vouch for their great brunch menu, scrumptious hot chocolate and heavenly cakes. All-round amazing food and, of course, top notch coffee.

KINGSTON ALL WRAPPED UP FOR CHRISTMAS

Spotted anything different in Kingston lately?

Kingston’s famous ‘falling over phone boxes’ have been wrapped in our classic Spot Red print for Christmas. You’ll find them on Old London Road, home to the town’s antiques emporium and quirky independent shops.

The boxes, officially named “Out of Order” by artist David Mach, are one of Kingston’s best known landmarks and have never before been given the Cath Kidston treatment.

But that’s not all.

The bikes of Kingston’s destination “ambassadors”, who are on hand to help Christmas shoppers with directions and details of festive entertainment, have also been brightened up with a Spot Red wrap.

We asked James Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Kingstonfirst, what he thought of the new look: “We are pulling out all the stops this Christmas to ensure the town centre is filled with festive sparkle… The Cath Kidston store on Thames Street is always popular at Christmas and we knew the phone box wrap would add a touch of fun to our festive decorations and would be appreciated by Cath Kidston fans, locals and visitors alike.”
